Sandustry Kinetic Press Guide
Drop Burnt Residue onto the Kinetic Press from at least 25 blocks above it. Official documentation says each successful input produces Gold and Seed below the machine. Material released too low, or an incorrect input, rests on top and can block later arrivals. Keep the drop shaft and both output routes clear.

Prepare Burnt Residue
The input is Burnt Residue, not raw Residue. The official material page says burning Residue has a 25% chance to leave Burnt Residue; the rest can disappear. Do not size the downstream line as if every burned pixel reaches the Press. Separate the burning area from the drop shaft so unrelated solids cannot land on the machine.
Identify the resulting material before releasing it. A flame effect or a dark pile is not enough to establish that the conversion finished. Keep access to remove incorrect material from the top of the Press, since the machine does not carry a blockage away like a Shaker.
Use the documented 25-block drop
The official Kinetic Press page specifies a fall from 25 or more blocks above the machine. The drop shown here refers to the distance from the material release to the Press, not the depth below it. Keep that fall unobstructed; a ledge that catches the material changes the usable drop.
Burnt Residue released too low rests on top rather than passing through. Stop the input, clear the accumulated pixels and inspect the release point before restarting. The official page also describes angled Launchers above the Press for clearing stagnant material to a side opening. Treat that as a separate clearing route, with somewhere for the rejected material to go.
Collect both outputs below the Press
The documented conversion is 1 Burnt Residue into 1 Gold and 1 Seed, with both outputs falling below the Press. Keep the outlet clear and send Gold to collection while reserving Seed for the plant chain. A full output pocket is different from insufficient drop height; inspect the two places separately.
The schematic summarizes the published mechanics. It is not a measured design or a guarantee for modded builds. If your setup differs, record the installed version, actual drop, input identity and whether material remains above or below the Press. Those observations distinguish the likely failure much more clearly than adding more feed.

Troubleshooting
- Material reaches the Press but is not processed
Check that the input is Burnt Residue and that it falls into the actual intake from a usable height rather than resting beside the machine.
- The Press runs briefly and then stops
Clear Gold and Seed from the output space and give each product a destination plus an overflow route.
